This is a handcrafted decorative piece. This natural edge bowl is made from a reclaimed Maple wood. The bowl's curves follow the natural curves of the tree. The natural bark edge also known as a live edge and the natural cracks give it a unique look.
I am legally blind and hand turned this on my lathe. This would be a fine addition to any home to hold dried or artificial flowers/fruit, individually wrapped candies and nuts, or just as a decorative piece of art. If you like organic forms mostly created by nature you will love this piece.
It measures 9-3/8" X 6" X 7" X 3-1/2"and is finished with a couple coats of oil then buffed.
This is a unique handcrafted American made bowl and will make a great gift for someone special or for your own home or office decor.
The natural variations and character of wood may be evident by the presence of different coloring in grain, unique grain patterns, sap streaks or pockets, knots, etc. Each piece is crafted by hand on my lathe, sanded to a smooth surface, and a hand rubbed finish is applied. Every attempt is made to get the measurements exact as described/pictured; however, due to each piece being handmade there may be slight variations in the measurements of each piece and there will be natural variations in the wood grains. Its’ uniqueness makes it a great conversation piece. Your friends and family will be amazed when they see it.
NOTE: The bowl is not suitable for holding liquids or foods. It is intended as a decorative piece of art.
To maintain the handcrafted finish of the bowl, simply dust it with a dry soft cloth. Do not use oil, furniture polish or chemical based cleaning products on the bowl. A good quality neutral color paste wax – Minwax Paste Finishing Wax, Liberon Neutral Paste Wax, Clear Briwax or similar - may be applied to the bowl as necessary to maintain the soft luster and finish.
