Extremely Rare Pheasant Wood Vase with Segment Maple Accent

$145.00

Custom handmade decorative vase for your home or office. This piece of decorative art is made from a rare pheasant wood with top and botom accents of segmented maple.

Pheasant wood is considered a rare, collectible exotic hardwood. Named for the black, golden, and dark chocolate streaks that mimic the feathers of a pheasant, it is generally sourced in limited regions of Southeast Asia. While the tree itself grows in many tropical climates (often used as an ornamental street tree), finding high-quality, large-diameter lumber with the vibrant figuring is quite difficult. Because of this, it rarely comes in large planks. Because of its relative scarcity and striking appearance, it sits in the upper price range for imported hardwoods and i, s highly prized for: Instrument components (such as ukuleles and guitars)Knife scales and fine turning or carving.

This can be displayed as a stand-a-lone piece of art. Or, you can use a silk or dried flower arrangment in it. NO WATER!

Measures about 6-3/4"h X 4-1/2"w. Finished with a few coats of hard wax oil and buffed to a nice sheen. It will look fantastic in any room of your house or at the office.

I am visually impaired and handcrafted this one of a kind piece on my lathe.

DO NOT use live flowers and water!

Care instructions: Wipe dust off with a soft cloth. Do not immerse in water to clean. Do not use chemical cleaners. A furniture paste wax may be applied if necessary to refresh or renew the shine.

The natural variations and character of wood may be evident by the presence of different coloring in grain, unique grain patterns, sap streaks or pockets, knots, etc. Every attempt is made to get the measurements exact as described/pictured; however, due to each piece being handmade there may be slight variations in the measurements of each piece and there will be natural variations in the wood grains. Its’ uniqueness makes it a great conversation piece. Your friends and family will be amazed when they see it.

The woods that I use are mostly local trees damaged by disease or storms and were destined for the landfill. On some occasions I do use exotic woods and those woods are sourced from certified suppliers who legally and eco-friendly harvested woods.

Color in pictures may vary from true color due to studio lighting conditions for photos and your monitor settings.

Ricc’s Designs offers many other wood turned products so be sure to check other items that may be available.

Typically ships in 1-3 business days.
