Custom handmade decorative vase for your home or office. This piece of decorative art is made from a single piece of reclaimed Maple wood. It has a lot of character with the natural cracks. The walnut "butterfly" patch repairs are an old fashioned way of repairing cracks and to keep the cracks from expanding. While this type of patch is generally called a butterfly, it is also often referred to as a pewa (pronounced as peva). Pewa is one of the meanings in the Hawaiian language for tail of a fish or shrimp.
Measures about 6-1/2"w X 3"h. Finished with a few coats of wipe on hard wax oil and buffed to a nice sheen. It will look fantastic in any room of your house or at the office.

DO NOT use live flowers and water! Can be used with dried or artificial arrangements or just a stand a lone piece of decorative art.
Care instructions: Wipe dust off with a soft cloth. Do not immerse in water to clean. Do not use chemical cleaners. A furniture paste wax may be applied if necessary to refresh or renew the shine.
The natural variations and character of wood may be evident by the presence of different coloring in grain, unique grain patterns, sap streaks or pockets, knots, etc. Every attempt is made to get the measurements exact as described/pictured; however, due to each piece being handmade there may be slight variations in the measurements of each piece and there will be natural variations in the wood grains. Its’ uniqueness makes it a great conversation piece. Your friends and family will be amazed when they see it.
The woods that I use are mostly local trees damaged by disease or storms and were destined for the landfill. On some occasions I do use exotic woods and those woods are sourced from certified suppliers who legally and eco-friendly harvested woods.
